Tracking unseasonable heat and spring storms this week
TODAY: It'll be chilly to start the day in the upper 20s but the afternoon ends up warmer than yesterday. Lighter southwest winds and sunshine will push highs into the upper 50s.
TOMORROW: Winds ramp back up out of the south on Monday, boosting temperatures even further above average. Most areas will reach the upper 60s with some spots already hitting 70 degrees.
EXTENDED: Midweek our attention turns to a more active pattern of showers and storms between Tuesday and Friday. We're currently tracking two windows for stronger to severe storms first on Tuesday evening then again sometime Thursday. Tuesday evening, storms could fire up near a low pressure system where it pulls in the best moisture and energy; however, where these storms initiate is still uncertain. There is even greater uncertainty with severe potential on Thursday, when storms could be stronger in the morning and during the day. These rounds of showers and storms will bring 1" to 2" of rainfall for most over the next 7 days, possibly higher amounts under heavy downpours.
