Macon man charged with sex crimes
MACON COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Macon man was charged on Wednesday with several child sex crimes, according to a press release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to the release, Johnathon Taylor, 34, was charged by the Attorney General's Office with seven counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, six counts of fourth-degree child molestation, one count of second-degree statutory rape and one count of patronizing prostitution. Charges haven’t appeared yet on Casenet. The Missouri Attorney General’s Office is a special prosecutor for the case, the release states.
Taylor is being held at the Randolph County Jail without bond. An arraignment is set for 8:30 a.m. Friday.
The release states that the LaPlata Police Department requested the MSHP Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control to investigate two separate allegations made about sexually assaulting girls in February 2021 and July 2022. The release states that Taylor had sexually assaulted two children at various locations in Macon County since 2017, the release says.
