Tracking widespread rain Thursday and Friday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and cool with lows falling into the mid-40s.

TOMORROW: Rain moves in and becomes widespread throughout the day, with a few rumbles of thunder possible in the afternoon. Temperatures remain in the lower 60s.

EXTENDED: Low pressure slowly moving in from the west will bring widespread rain to Mid-Missouri between Thursday and Friday, with a few thunderstorms possible both afternoons, especially on Friday. Severe weather isn't expected, but there could be embedded small hail in a few of the storms in the afternoon as we'll be within the warmer sector of the system. Temperatures manage to get into the low 60s both days before the cold front moves through on Friday night. That will bring us down into the upper 40s on Saturday as rain exits to the southeast in the morning. Beneficial rain will head our way with up to 1.5-2" of rainfall expected across much of Mid-Missouri. We'll see clouds gradually decreasing on Saturday, with warmer temperatures in the upper 50s and more sunshine by Sunday. Next week starts off mild with highs in the mid-upper 60s before another shot at rain returns on Wednesday.
