Tracking a warm and windy start to the week, chance of storms late Monday
TONIGHT: Windy and mild with increasing clouds. Isolated shower or two possible north of I-70 overnight. Lows in the upper 50s.
TOMORROW: Windy and partly cloudy with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Highs in the upper 70s with a chance of a few storms around or shortly after sunset.
EXTENDED: After another record-breaking warm day, we're tracking continued mild weather into Monday as highs reach the upper 70s ahead of a cold front that will bring a chance of isolated to scattered storms by evening, especially for areas east of Highway 63. A few storms could be strong, but the better potential for severe weather will be to our northeast. Any storms that develop could bring up to 1" hail through late Monday night. Behind the front, winds shift back to the north, bringing a cool down into the lower 60s. There could be a few storms along I-44 on Tuesday afternoon as the front works slowly southeast. We'll be cool in the lower 60s on Wednesday and Thursday as our next low pressure system brings another front through. We'll see rain returning between Thursday night and Friday, likely exiting by Saturday. We'll be cooler in the wake of that system, with temperatures only making the 50s heading into the weekend. Rain amounts for the next 7 days will add up to around 1-1.5".
