Tracking a spring-like start to March

TODAY: Thursday is a return to normal for late February, as we leave meteorological winter, and look to meteorological spring. We'll see the day start clear, but high clouds move in from the south, leading to a gradual increase in opaqueness of the sky. We'll likely be mostly cloudy by the afternoon, but some sunshine may still be working through, so grab the sunglasses. High pressure overhead this morning has us starting chilly, but south winds return as the high leaves, which will warm us into the 50s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: The aforementioned high clouds will arrive in advance of a weak disturbance that will generate showers for us overnight. Largely after midnight into Friday morning. Only about a tenth of an inch can be expected at best, but this may linger into the daylight hours for some on Friday.

EXTENDED: Friday starts with a few rain drops, with temperatures in the 30s. This means a few snow flakes may mix in, but zero impacts are expected. Winds remain from the south, and so we'll return to the 50s Friday afternoon, where the sun likely pops back out from behind the clouds. The weekend is very spring-like, with sunshine and 70s expected Saturday and Sunday, if we don't reach into the 80s on Sunday. We will near 80 Sunday, as warm flow increases ahead of our next system arriving Monday. We'll see a chance for showers and storms on Monday, before cooling into the middle of next week. 'Cooling', is still mild with highs expected in the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday.
