Tracking another day of near record warmth, rain, and snow by tomorrow night

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and breezy with lows in the lower to mid-50s. A spot shower or two possible along I-44.

TOMORROW: Warming up fast with gusty winds up to 35 mph. Highs in the lower 80s. Records across Mid-Missouri are in the mid-70s.

EXTENDED: After another day of record-breaking warmth, we'll be tracking a cold front that will bring a major cool down and chances for precipitation in Mid-Missouri by tomorrow night. Winds pick up to about 40 mph, sending temperatures tumbling quickly behind the front. Rain moves in after about 7-8:00 p.m., and will shift to snow as temperatures drop below freezing. A dusting to 1/2" of accumulation on grassy or elevated surfaces will be possible, especially along and north of I-70. Wednesday morning will be bitterly cold with wind chills around 10 degrees as lows fall into the mid-20s. Wednesday is blustery and sunny, and highs only reach the mid-upper 30s. We'll gradually warm back into the lower 50s on Thursday, with a chance of rain showers across the southern half of the area by evening. Friday will be back into the lower 60s to end the week on a mild note. The upcoming weekend will be beautiful, as high temperatures reach the lower to mid-70s with sunshine on Saturday and Sunday.
