Mizzou hoops sets new school record for consecutive losses, as the Tigers fall to the Razorbacks
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KMIZ)
The Arkansas men's basketball team completed the season sweep over Mizzou at Bud Walton Arena, on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers lost 88-73 to the rival Razorbacks to fall to 0-14 in conference play.

MU kept it close at halftime, trailing by just two points, but, once again, let the closing minutes of the game get away from them. Head coach Dennis Gates and company have not won in 2024 and have now set a new school record for consecutive losses, as they ride a 14-game losing streak.
The Tigers actually came out of the locker room with a lot of energy, going on a 10-0 run in the start of the second half, eventually grabbing a lead from the Razorbacks. In the early minutes of the second, the game stayed close, with 11 lead changes.
However, the momentum swung in favor of the hogs with 10 minutes to play at Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas standout Khalif Battle heated up, finishing with 42 points, which is the most an SEC player has scored in the 2023-24 season. Battle hit six of Arkansas' 10-total 3-pointers on Saturday.
Sean East led the scoring charge for Mizzou, finishing with 33 points on better than 60 percent shooting from the field. He also drained a team-high 15 free throws. Saturday marked East's third-straight outing with 20 points or more.
Gates and his squad will have four more opportunities to get an SEC win. If the Tigers go winless in conference action, it'll be the first time an MU squad has done that since 1907.
Up next - Mizzou will stay on the road with a trip to Gainesville, Fla. The Tigers and the Gators will tip off at 5:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
