Jefferson City man charged with child sex crimes
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was charged with multiple child sex crimes on Thursday.
Jonathan Wong, 25, was charged with first-degree child molestation, statutory sodomy and incest. He was arrested on Thursday and a warrant was listed as “served” on Friday.
Police received a report about a sexual assault on Feb. 13 and Wong denied allegations the same day, according to the probable cause statement. A person described as a witness allegedly told law enforcement that they received a text message from the victim that detailed the assault, the statement says.
Wong allegedly told police that he was accused of similar behavior in another state, but stated no investigation was conducted by law enforcement, according to the statement.
In a forensic interview at Rainbow House on Wednesday, the victim described the assault and stated assaults began about a year ago, according to the statement.
