Tracking a mild Thursday ahead of snow to end the week
TODAY: Thursday will be partly cloudy with a high near 50.
TONIGHT: Tonight, clouds will increase, and temperatures will fall to just near 30.
EXTENDED: Rain and snow begins early Friday morning as an area of low pressure moves in. This will leave some minor accumulations north of I-70, with best chances east of HWY 63. Moberly to Mexico will be the stretch of best snow fall, and where areas could reach 2 inches, with an isolated three inches possible, but not likely. This snow will mainly accumulate on grassy and elevated surfaces, but some slushy road conditions will be possible especially where the greatest snow falls. Columbia may see an inch to two at the absolute most, with Jefferson City likely closer to one inch amounts at best. We'll be chilly and dry on Saturday, with breezy winds keeping highs in the 30s. We'll see south wind warm us back into the 50s and 60s next week.
