FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Fulton man was charged after authorities said he drunkenly shot at a bar early Wednesday.

Christopher Bergesch, 32, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and illegal gun possession. He is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.

According to a probable cause statement, Callaway County Sheriff’s deputies were called to The Whiskey Barn – located in the 7100 block of County Road 407 – at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday for a report of gun being fired. Deputies saw three gunshot holes in the siding of the building and a fourth hole in the roof, the probable cause statement says.

The owner of the bar told deputies that the holes were new and would cost about $1,500 to repair, the statement says.

The statement says Bergesch was at the bar and was smoking a vape pen, which was against the policy of the business. Bartenders then cut off service to Bergesch after he became aggressive, the statement says. He had been served 11 beers, according to his check, the statement says.

The bartender then heard gunshots and Bergesch went back to the door, which was locked, the statement says.

According to court documents, deputies reviewed video of the incident. The video allegedly showed Bergesch walk around the northeast side of the building; he then came back and made a threatening statement while looking at the camera while reaching into the front of his waistband. Deputies could hear four shots go off in the video and then Bergesch was seen running away, according to the statement.

Bergesch lives about an eighth of a mile from the bar, the statement says. Deputies knocked on his door and didn’t receive any answers, but could hear noise in the residence, the statement says. Bergesch had allegedly fallen through the floor and was found by law enforcement at the back of the residence, according to court documents.

Deputies described Bergesch as being under the influence of alcohol from his breath and slurred speech. Court documents say deputies found a gun and ammunition in the residence.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook that Bergesch was on parole.
