Tracking a seasonal Super Bowl Sunday

TODAY: We start off clear and chilly below freezing but sunshine will help improve things the first half of the day. Even with more clouds arriving this afternoon temperatures peak in the mid to upper 40s, still above average by several degrees. Conditions remain mild through the evening for watch parties.

TOMORROW: Monday will be a much different story for southern Mid-MO with a winter system bringing accumulating snow along the I-44 corridor. Snow first arrives at sunrise and spreads as far north as Hwy 54 through the morning. This will be a heavy and wet snow that is expected to accumulate on roads and may also be a concern for trees and power lines. Impacts for Mid-MO are fairly limited, with little to no precipitation northwest of Hwy 54. A narrow band of 1-4"+ snow totals is possible generally along I-44, but this track is still subject to change.

EXTENDED: After this event, clouds clear out and temperatures will be trending up once again. On Valentine's Day, Mid-Missouri can expect temperatures to be in the mid to upper 50s.
