The conflict in the Middle East took a deadly turn Sunday for the United States when three soldiers were killed in a drone strike in Jordan.

American bases have been attacked since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel and the ensuing Israeli war in Gaza. However, Sunday's attack marked a significant escalation from America's enemies, bringing calls from some politicians for more military action.
