Callaway County murder suspect expected in court

Lola Crews is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of her mother.

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ) -

A 62-year-old woman charged with stabbing her mother to death is set to appear in court Tuesday morning.

Lola Crews was arrested Friday after Callaway County deputies went to the 8300 block of Broadway St. just outside New Bloomfield for a wellness check.

Court documents say Crews admitted to using a knife found in the kitchen to stab her mother, 80-year-old Francis Keel.

Crews is set to appear in Callaway County court at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. She is currently in the Callaway County jail without bond.
