Tracking light snow, another arctic blast, and some long-term hope for warmth

TODAY: Monday starts just about as cold as Sunday, so expect another cold one, with highs in the single digits, near about 5 degrees. Winds have us feeling like 10-15 below through the day. Clouds keeps us gray, with snow showers returning this afternoon. Most will see snow through the afternoon, with totals reaching anywhere from a quarter of an inch to near a half inch. This will be another round of very dry and fluffy snow, which will blow around easily.

TONIGHT: Snow tapers off by the mid-to-late evening. Temperatures fall back below zero by sunrise, keeping feels like temperatures nearly 20 below early Tuesday.

EXTENDED: Skies clear overnight, which will at least bring sunshine for folks on Tuesday. Temperatures will struggle, but warm into the teens, a sign of progress. Warmth will surge, relatively, on Wednesday. South flow will put us back into the 30s, possibly just above freezing on Wednesday. This warmth, if you can call it that, doesn't last long. Expect a cold front on Thursday to bring more snow showers, and another arctic blast. Snow looks limited, but highs look to be confined to the teens through next weekend, with lows reaching near zero again Saturday morning. With all of this cold in the forecast, it's notable, that the forecast looks to warm at some point next week, with temperatures likely to be above average. We could be talking about a return to at least 40s next week.
