Woman’s body found in water near where small plane crashed in ocean south of San Francisco

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (AP) — A woman’s body was found in the water near where a small plane crashed into the ocean off the California coast. The crew of a fishing boat found the body Monday shortly after the search for survivors was called off after nearly six hours. Authorities say the crash was reported around 7 p.m. Sunday near Half Moon Bay after witnesses reported seeing the plane in obvious distress. Sheriff’s officials say the aircraft was found upside down in the water near Ross Cove, about 25 miles south of San Francisco. The Federal Aviation Administration says two people were aboard the Cozy Mark IV, a four-seat light aircraft that can be built from a kit.
