Tracking impactful snow accumulating across much of Mid-Missouri
TODAY: Rainfall has switched over to heavier snowfall bands across much of Mid-Missouri leading towards more hazardous traveling conditions this afternoon. Reduced visibility and covered roadways remains possible with snowfall totals of up to 1" per hour possible. Travel should be avoided this afternoon if possible.
TONIGHT: Heavier bands of snowfall remains possible tonight as temperatures cool to near or at freezing. Travel impacts remain moderate as roadways can see accumulating slush due to higher snowfall rates. A break in the snowfall and rain occurs closer to midnight tonight as the moisture moves to the north.
EXTENDED: Tuesday morning sees a rain and snow mix begin closer to the AM commute causing issues once again with roadway impacts. Near freezing temperatures means a mic of rain to snowfall becomes possible with predominately snowfall by the early afternoon hours. Heavier widespread bands with cooler temperatures throughout the afternoon and evening hours Tuesday leads to the majority of snowfall totals across Mid-Missouri. Highest totals exists the further north you go towards the Missouri/ Iowa border. The snowfall pushes to the east closer into Tuesday night where the Weather Alert Day is current set to expire at 7 PM.
