Missouri legislative session set to begin at noon Wednesday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Senate and House of Representatives for the state of Missouri will meet at the capital at noon Wednesday to gavel in the 102nd General Assembly.

The House Appropriations Committee will meet at 8:15 a.m. before the General Assembly begins at noon.

According to the calendar for Wednesday, lawmakers are set to discuss 17 bills. Those bills will distribute funding throughout the state for items like grants, funds, expenses and refunds for state-run agencies.

Missouri lawmakers began filing proposed legislation on Dec. 1. and continued throughout the month. Bills can be introduced up until March 1.

A new rule was added to this year, stating members of the Missouri House of Representatives cannot file more than 20 bills without approval from the Speaker of the House.
