Tracking sunshine today, with minimal rain chances this weekend

TODAY: Thursday brings a bit more sunshine after a thin layer of clouds gave a milky look to Wednesday's skies. This plus increased southerly wind will result in a warmer day, with highs in the mid-to-upper 50s.

TONIGHT: Winds from the south will help keep temperatures warm, in the mid-30s through sunrise Friday. Clouds will be increasing too, but are likely a high thin layer at first, before thickening throughout the day on Friday.

EXTENDED: Friday is a mostly cloudy day, but dry. Clouds will thicken ahead of an upper level low pressure system that arrives on Saturday. We'll likely stay dry Friday, but some showers could arrive late Friday night, near midnight or later. Our best chance (still only about 30%) comes Saturday morning, where some light rain is possible along the cold front associated with the low pressure. This will have us cloudy on Saturday, with highs lingering near 50. Clouds will likely linger as another upper level low will drop in from the north on the heels of Saturday's system. This may not bring rain to the region, but Sunday may be gray in it's wake. Highs for Sunday are currently forecast near 50, which is about what we can expect through the first half of next week, with partly cloudy skies and dry conditions forecast for much of this period.
