UM Board of Curators set to meet to discuss Memorial Stadium renovations
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The UM Board of Curators are scheduled to meet on Friday, Dec. 15 at 8 a.m. to continue discussions of the planned Memorial Stadium renovations. At Friday's meeting, Mizzou Athletics will seek approval to hire an architect/engineering firm to consult on the project.
DLR Group, a Missouri-based firm, is being recommended for the project. The selection committee also interviewed two other firms, including Populous and Perkins + Will (KC).
The chosen firm will conduct a Pre-Design Programming Study, and the fee for those services are not supposed to exceed $400,000.
The goal of the renovations is to increase revenue and further the brand and reputation of MU and MU Athletics.
The meeting documents also provided more detail about the envisioned improvements for Memorial Stadium. Here's a list of those renovations included in the documents:
- Premium Seating Component
- Improved and Modernized Food and Beverage Concessions
- New Restroom Facilities
- New Stadium Gateway and Gate System
- Open-Air Observation Decks
- Improved Wayfinding and Graphics
- Retail Outlets
- Team Recruiting Room
- New and Enhanced North End Zone Scoreboard
- Preservation of Rock "M" at the North End Zone
The Memorial Stadium renovation project is expected to be complete by August 2026.
