Camden County fire burns mobile home, vehicles, sparks wildfire
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Camden County fire that burned a mobile home, several vehicles and natural cover around the trailer early Wednesday appears to be accidental.
Mid-County Fire Protection District firefighters were called to the property on Velvet Antler Road near Camdenton at about 4 a.m. and found the mobile home fully on fire along with the vehicles and natural cover across the road from the mobile home, the district said in a Facebook post.
The fire was in an area with no hydrants and tankers were used to shuttle water to the scene. However, firefighters had it under control in about 45 minutes, the district posted.
A resident, who was outside when firefighters arrived, was taken to Lake Regional Hospital. The fire district didn't say how bad the resident's injuries were.
A fire marshal is investigating but the fire appears to be accidental, the post says. Damage was extensive and the resident is being helped by the American Red Cross.
