Columbia teenager charged as adult with robbery, other felonies

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia teenager has been charged as an adult in Boone County with multiple felonies, including armed robbery.

Kedrick Lee Harris, 17, was charged Monday with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and tampering with a witness. A warrant for Harris’ arrest was ordered on Monday and no bond was set.

Multiple probable cause statements were filed and heavily redacted in Harris' case. According to one of the statements, a female allegedly told Boone County Joint Communications on June 23 that her boyfriend was robbed at gunpoint in the area of Bryant Walkway and Allen Walkway.

According to the statement, the victim got into a stolen vehicle with two other males and thought they were going to smoke marijuana. One of the males then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim’s head, the statement says. The victim was then told to leave the car, according to the statement.

One person in the probable cause statement alleges that Harris and his brother are “involved with the North gang.”

Another probable cause statement claims that Harris allegedly tampered with a witness from a Columbia Public Schools email address in September. Police had been forwarded emails by the Juvenile Justice Center, according to the statement. In November, law enforcement began reviewing a USB drive with several emails, the statement says. The thumb drive was picked up from the Aslin Administration Building.

According to the probable cause statement, the messages appeared to show that a “subject” had allegedly paid $100 to have charges dropped and then another $200 after a redacted name was released. After the messages were sent, the statement says one of the parties at the alleged robbery recanted their statements to their lawyer.
