Tracking widespread rain overnight, chilly and cloudy Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with widespread rain overnight. Lows in the lower 40s.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-40s. Spot shower possible north by evening.

EXTENDED: Rain inches up toward I-70 this evening, becoming more widespread overnight into very early Friday morning. Low pressure will track right across Mid-Missouri, pushing rain to the north early in the morning. Rain amounts will end up near an inch for most of the area. Clouds hold on and it will be chilly with highs in the 40s tomorrow, with perhaps a couple showers north of Highway 24 through evening. We get back into the upper 40s on Saturday as clouds linger, but another disturbance rolling through could bring a chance for a few evening rain showers into Sunday morning. Temperatures creep back above 50 on Sunday before another front rolls through early next week that could bring some rain on Tuesday. The upper jet stream lifts back north later next week, bringing temperatures back above average for the end of the week into the upper 50s.
