Tracking heavy overnight showers with near average weekend temperatures

TODAY: Afternoon highs reach into the lower 50s as skies remain mostly cloudy. By late afternoon, showers move in from the southwest becoming more widespread after seven.

TONIGHT: Showers continue to drape across all of Mid-Missouri by 10 pm with heavier bands of rainfall expected. Overnight lows cool to the lower 40s.

EXTENDED: Showers exit to the northeast by the second half of Friday morning. Rainfall totals throughout the event reach up to 1.5" with widespread 1" expected across the region. Friday afternoon sees a light scattered drizzle possible as highs reach into the mid-40s. This weekend sees chances of scattered light showers, but most of Mid-Missouri looks to remain dry with temperatures closer to the 50 degree mark.
