Tracking a rainy Thursday, cooler Friday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and not as cold, lows in the upper 30s to around 40.

TOMORROW: Cloudy with showers moving in by afternoon. Widespread rain expected area-wide by evening. Highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.

EXTENDED: We'll stay a bit more mild tonight as lows dip to about 40 by daybreak tomorrow. Clouds increase overnight ahead of low pressure that slides to our south tomorrow, with rain showers drifting in from the south by about midday for our far southern counties near I-44 and by late afternoon for locations south of I-70. Showers are widespread across the entire area by Thursday night, with measurable rain exiting by mid-morning Friday. Friday night, a few light showers or flurries will be possible across far northern Missouri on the back side of low pressure. Rain amounts will be around 1" for much of Mid-Missouri. The weekend is looking warmer as we get back into the lower 50s by Sunday. Rain chances are looking slim with a weaker area of low pressure moving through on Saturday night, but not completely out of the question. We'll be near our seasonal averages to start next week in the upper 40s.
