Tracking frigid temperatures overnight, late week rain

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows in the upper teens to around 20.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the lower 40s.

EXTENDED: We're in for another cold night as most areas drop into the upper teens to around 20. Tomorrow is another sunny day, but winds will ease a bit and shift to the south. Temperatures top out in the lower 40s and remain in the 30s overnight into Wednesday morning. Wednesday will be the nicest day of the week with temperatures in the low 50s and sunshine before rain returns to Mid-Missouri. Showers move in with low pressure on Thursday afternoon and continue through early Friday, and temperatures dip into the lower 40s by Friday afternoon behind the cold front. Rain amounts will depend on the track of low pressure, but generally areas along and south of I-70 could see 0.5" to 1", with lesser amounts farther north. Another disturbance rolls through between Saturday and Sunday, bringing another shot at rain, especially for northern sections of the state. Temperatures will be seasonably cool in the lower 50s through the weekend.
