Tracking colder conditions that could bring snow this weekend
TODAY: It'll be blustery for post-holiday travel with wind gusts up to 20 mph Friday. Highs will be colder under this northerly breeze as we barely reach 40 degrees in some spots.
TOMORROW: Conditions remain cold over the weekend but highs likely rise a few degrees into the lower 40s. Expect a few more clouds but a dry day up to sundown.
EXTENDED: Late Saturday night, cold rain begins in western portions of Mid-Missouri closer to Sedalia and the Lake. As temperatures drop throughout the overnight hours, showers change to a wintry mix and eventually snow for areas along and north of Jefferson City. Ground and road temperatures remain above freezing but take caution with the extra holiday traffic. A light dusting remains possible for areas north of Jefferson City on grassy and elevated surfaces that will melt very shortly into Sunday afternoon. Next week sees highs reaching back into the mid-40s by the end of the week.
