Macon man charged, accused of shooting at woman outside of Moberly bar

A Macon man was charged with several felonies after was accused of firing a gun at a woman outside of a Moberly bar.

Tyrese Mayfield, 18, was charged with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence. He is being held without bond at the Randolph County Jail and an initial court appearance was held on Monday.

According to the probable cause statement, a woman identified as Mayfield’s girlfriend allegedly saw him at Mallard’s Pub and Pool. She allegedly told police that she believed Mayfield was out of town, confronted him and accused him of cheating. The woman allegedly told police that Mayfield shoved her while outside of the bar and she retaliated by hitting him.

The statement says that Mayfield then went to his truck, pulled out a gun and fired it near the woman’s head. The statement says Mayfield then left the parking lot and the woman allegedly told police that he didn’t have a valid license and he was drunk.

One witness allegedly told police that she saw Mayfield fire the gun near the victim’s head and another witness claimed he told Mayfield to stop hitting the victim, the statement says. The second witness denied hitting Mayfield, the statement says.

Mayfield was found in Macon but Macon County Sheriff’s deputies and was arrested, the statement says. Law enforcement searched the vehicle and found a gun with ammunition, the statement says.

Mayfield allegedly told police that his girlfriend found him in the bar, he went outside and was confronted by her. He claimed a man then punched him in the jaw and went back inside of the bar and that his girlfriend continued to hit him, the statement says. He then allegedly admitted to pulling out the gun and firing it near his girlfriend’s head, the statement says.
