Tracking warm fall weekdays ahead of a cool down this weekend

TODAY: It's another bright and warm day today, even warmer than Thursday. We expect highs near 70 this afternoon thanks to a combination between sunshine and steady flow of warm air from the south.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will remain mild overnight, with temperatures falling into the low 40s by sunrise on Thursday.

EXTENDED: Clouds will increase on Thursday, but much of the day should remain mostly sunny to partly cloudy. The thickest clouds will arrive near a cold front which arrives overnight into early Friday morning. This will likely be a dry cold front, outside the slim chance of a sprinkle or two. The biggest impact of this front will be the influx of cooler air that sets us back into the 50s for highs on Friday. If you are traveling to St. Louis Friday morning, you may run into some light rain, but mid-Missouri will likely stay dry. The weekend is cool overall, and mostly dry. Expect highs in the 50s, with rain not returning until Sunday night at the soonest. Some solutions suggest that this may hold off until after midnight, but it is looking increasingly likely that we'll wake up to rain on Monday. Temperatures will settle near 50 on Monday, so it's a cold rain through the day, and possibly into early Tuesday before we dry up into the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Early estimates show that we could see anywhere between a trace and a quarter of an inch of rain Sunday night through Tuesday. We look to stay cool for Thanksgiving.
