Tracking a quiet and mild week ahead

TODAY: Monday is full of sunshine. Very little cloud cover is expected today, especially after high clouds, that are present this morning, exit to the east. This leaves us mostly sunny, and with a variable but mostly northeast breeze thanks to some surface high pressure. Temperatures are similar to yesterday, in the mid-to-upper 60s.

TONIGHT: Surface high pressure is moving away, but still influencing early morning temperatures on Tuesday, keeping us cool and relatively calm, with temperatures settling in the upper 30s.

EXTENDED: A cold start lends to a cooler day, Tuesday, despite a nice breeze turning more southerly and abundant sunshine. Some in the south will deal with high clouds sourced from an upper level low to our south. South winds at the surface will contribute to a warmer day overall on Wednesday, but only by a few degrees. Realistically, there is little sensible change each day, as we are generally sunny with highs in the 60s through Thursday. Clouds will increase Thursday night into Friday morning as a cold front sweeps through, however this passage is mostly in the early Friday morning hours, and has little to no moisture to work with. Oddly enough, the upper level low that passes south of us on Tuesday/Wednesday may serve as a block to moisture returning ahead of Friday morning's cold front. We have removed rain from the forecast for this cold frontal passage, as it looks mostly dry. Any cooldown behind the front will be limited as well, but we could see highs knocked into the low 60s on Friday. We will be watching the pattern over the weekend, as it looks a bit more active. Uncertainty remains surrounding timing and placement of features over the weekend and into early next week, so confidence is low, but the forecast currently has dry weather listed for Saturday, with a better chance at rain returning Sunday night and possibly more activity into the first half of next week.
