Glasgow Fire District puts out car fire in wooded area Sunday morning

GLASGOW, Mo. (KMIZ)

Glasgow Fire District responded to a car fire that spread into a wooded area Sunday morning.

According to a Facebook post from the fire district, the fire spread to stacked wood and was threatening multiple structures, including a house and a detached garage. Howard County Sheriff's Office and Central 911 aided in the response.

Glasgow Fire Protection District described its response to the fire, "Upon arrival firefighters pulled a 1.75” line to extinguish the vehicle and moved to the woodpile as two booster lines were pulled to extinguish the wooded areas near the residence and the burning sill plate on a detached garage."

Although the car was severely damage, the detached garage was deemed safe.

ABC 17 reached out to the fire district to ask how much damage was caused and what the cause of the fire was.
