One lane of Highway 63 South closed for crash Thursday night
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
UPDATE at 8:46 p.m.: Columbia Public Works closed Rock Quarry Road late Thursday night for "extreme slickness." The road is closed between Stag's Way and Fellow's Place.
Public works tweeted at 8:40 p.m. advising drivers to use an alternate route.
UPDATE at 8:25 p.m.: Mid-Missouri state troopers are responding to multiple calls around the area. MSHP Troop F tweeted at 8:16 p.m. that troopers were on scene for six weather-related calls Thursday night.
Troopers reported 45 crashes and five injuries through 8 p.m.
UPDATE at 7:37 p.m.: Boone County Joint Communications tweeted a lane of Highway 63 southbound is closed for a crash.
The tweet shows crews closed one lane of 63 at the East Deer Park Road intersection.
Southern Boone County Fire Protection District reported a vehicle slid off the road near the intersection.
ORIGINAL: Boone County and Callaway County authorities are warning drivers about crashes and road impacts on Thursday night.
Boone County authorities blocked off E. High Point Lane between Eagle Road and Turtle Creek Lane for a structure fire Thursday night. Crews reopened the road just after 7:30 p.m.
Joint Comm also tweeted out at 5:53 p.m. that a portion of St. Charles Road in north Columbia is closed for a downed power pole.
A firefighter at the scene told an ABC 17 News crew that Columbia Water and Light is on its way to the downed pole.
MoDOT is also warning Callaway County drivers about delays on Route 94. The highway was closed for a tractor-trailer crash near Big Tavern Creek around 5 p.m. Crews reopened 94 just after 6 p.m.
The Stormtrack weather team issued a Weather Alert Day for snow possible Thursday and Friday. Snow is coming down around Mid-Missouri Thursday night and it could make roads slicker.
