Fulton man charged with child sex crime
FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Fulton man was charged on Thursday with a child sex crime.
Shawn Weber, 33, was charged with child enticement, tampering with a victim in a felony prosecution and tampering with physical evidence. He is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.
According the probable cause statement, a 14-year-old girl told law enforcement that she was receiving text messages that were “sexual in nature” from a friend’s father. Law enforcement confirmed the phone number and an address belonging to Weber, according to the statement.
The victim showed a text-message conversation that began on Oct. 27 and went through Monday. The probable cause statement says messages were “sexual in nature” and included Weber trying to arrange times to meet with the victim. The victim allegedly stated she was 14 and Weber responded with a list of “rules,” including one allegedly stating, “Everything we do is absolute secret,” according to the statement.
Weber allegedly admitted to a deputy that he sent most of the text messages, but claimed he didn’t remember sending every message. Some of the messages were deleted off of his phone, the statement says.
