Man seriously injured in Moniteau County crash

CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man suffered serious injuries Monday in a Moniteau County crash near the intersection of Lookout Trail and East Railroad Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash occurred as a 2012 Ford F-150 – driven by Tyler Fairfax, 24, of Jamestown -- stopped to make a left turn onto east railroad road, according to the report.

A 2007 Chrysler 300 – driven by Kristian Kennedy, 35, of Jefferson City – failed to stop and rear-ended the Ford, the report states. The Ford then skid and stopped partially off the road.

Kennedy’s passenger – Andrew Chapman, 33, of Jefferson City – suffered serious injuries and was brought to SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, according to the report. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The report also states that Kennedy was not wearing a seatbelt and that the Chrysler was totaled.

The report states that the Ford had extensive damage, but it was driven from the scene. The report also states Fairfax was wearing a seatbelt.
