Columbia Police: Shell casings found at Cosmo Park after shots were fired
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia police official has told ABC 17 News that shots were fired Monday in Cosmo Park in Columbia.
Shell casings were found by police at the park. Columbia Police Sgt. Anthony Bowne said police received a call about shots heard at 3:42 p.m. Bowne said a victim or possible suspect was not at the scene.
An ABC 17 News reporter saw at least five evidence markers on the ground. A Crime Scene Investigation van and several Columbia police officers were seen. Police left the scene by 4:45 p.m.
ABC 17 News previously reported that more than 200 calls to police have been made to Cosmo Park this year. There were 52 calls made in August and September.
Another eight calls have been made in October, so far; bringing the yearly total to 219. Calls in October included leaving the scene accident, a stalled vehicle, an accident, a burglary and calls for check subject and check area.
