Tracking a frigid night, chilly Halloween

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with a few clouds and cold with lows in the lower 20s. Wind chills in the upper teens by daybreak.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 30s to around 40. Temperatures falling to near freezing for trick-or-treating.

EXTENDED: Tonight, clouds clear out once again and we'll see lows falling into the lower 20s with wind chills in the upper teens by Tuesday morning. It's a cold Halloween with some afternoon clouds and highs in the upper 30s to around 40. Trick or treat temperatures will be in the lower 30s, with wind chills in the mid-20s. Wednesday morning will be the coldest of the week with morning lows just a few degrees warmer than the record of 16. Winds begin to shift more southwesterly, getting temperatures back into the upper 40s by late afternoon. The end of the week is warmer as the upper jet stream pulls in southwest winds, sending temperatures back into the 60s by Friday. We'll see a chance for a few showers by Saturday afternoon or evening as a front stalls to our north, and another potential shot at rain early next week with continued near or just above average temperatures.
