Man killed in crash on I-44 in Phelps County early Sunday morning

PHELPS COUNTY, Mo (KMIZ)

A Georgia man was killed in a crash early Sunday morning on I-44 at the 200 mile mark westbound in Phelps County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 7:48 a.m. when 25-year-old Mohamed Aden was driving a tractor trailer and it went off the road and crashed into another tractor trailer that was left in the median from an earlier crash, according to online crash reports.

Aden was pronounced dead on scene and his passenger 25-year-old Hassen Adow was taken to Phelps Health with serious injuries.

Troopers say Aden was wearing a seatbelt and Adow was not.

This is Trooper I's 25th death for 2023.
