Tracking another round of showers through Thursday morning
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and windy with showers picking back up. Lows in the lower 60s.
TOMORROW: Rain early, becoming isolated during the day. Breezy with highs in the lower 70s.
EXTENDED: Count on a wet morning commute Thursday with showers continuing through midday before exiting to the east/northeast. Thursday is breezy and warm with wind gusts up to 25 mph from the south, and highs in the lower to mid-70s. We can't rule out a spot shower or storm through Thursday night, but temperatures only fall into the low 60s by Friday morning. Big changes are coming by Friday as a cold front rolls through during the day, dropping us from the low 70s into the low 40s by Friday night. We could see a few showers and storms, but precipitation isn't widespread on Friday. As the front settles across southern Missouri, we'll see a resurgence of rain both Saturday and Sunday, but much cooler air will settle in for the weekend behind the front. Highs on Saturday only make the low 50s, and we'll drop into the 40s for highs on Sunday afternoon. Rain amounts through the weekend will add up to another 0.5" to 1.25". As rain moves out and Canadian high pressure moves in to start the week, we'll likely have our first hard freeze on Monday with lows dipping to near or just below freezing. Halloween will be off to a cold start with temperatures dropping into the upper 20s in the morning with upper 40s during the day despite sunshine. Trick or treating will be chilly as temperatures quickly fall into the upper 30s to low 40s after sunset Tuesday night.
