Tracking warmer temperatures and rounds of rain next week

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with lows in the lower 50s. A few spotty showers north of I-70 possible overnight.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with south wind gusts up to 25 mph. Highs in the lower 80s.

EXTENDED: Tonight, I'm tracking a few clouds and possibly a few sprinkles north of I-70 overnight. Monday is our only completely dry day of the week as highs climb into the low 80s and strong winds from the south gust up to 25 mph. We'll see southwest upper level wind flow for most of the week, sending disturbances our way that will bring rain starting Tuesday. Rounds of rain and a few storms will be possible through the end of the week as a front stalls across Mid-Missouri, but doesn't pass through until the weekend and cool temperatures down. Highs reach the upper 70s Tuesday through Thursday, and cool a bit by Friday down to about 70 for the afternoon. Rain looks to continue into the weekend, but temperatures will be cooler with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. 7-day rain totals will be in the 2-3" range. After next weekend, the pattern turns cooler and there's a chance we could see our first area-wide frost by around Halloween.
