Fall foliage update

Getting deeper into fall means more vivid color changes for Mid-Missouri's foliage.

Typically, peaks in foliage occur during the last weeks of October for Central Missouri leading to a spectacle to see when traveling through the Ozark's.

The current state of our foliage stands in low to moderate coloration. This puts us on time for our usual fall foliage peak.

In a week, leaf colors are expected to display moderate to high color across Mid-Missouri. To see the beginning of the peak of foliage, one will have to drive to north central portions of Missouri.

Due to widespread extreme and severe drought conditions, sadly the colors this year will be less vibrant than on average. Many leaves will actually die and welt sooner not allowing for the changing of colors altogether before falling off of the tree.
