Schwadron announces bid for Missouri Secretary of State
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
State Rep. Adam Schwadron (R-St. Charles) has announced his bid for Missouri’s Secretary of State, according to a Thursday night press release.
The position is currently held by Jay Ashcroft, who announced his gubernatorial campaign in April.

In his press release, Schwadron describes himself as a conservative, a business owner and states “election security” is one of his top goals. He also states he supports implementing signature verification for absentee ballots.
House committees he serves on, according to the release, includes Elections & Elected Officials, General Laws, Health and Mental Health Policy and the Special Committee on Small Business.
Schwadron has a wife and two daughters, according to the release, and stated he's the only practicing Jewish legislator in the Missouri Assembly.
Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller also announced a bid for the office as a Republican on his website. Another Republican, Valentina Gomez Noriega, has filed with the Missouri Ethics Commission. No Democrats have registered with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
