Man suffers serious injury in crash after hitting deer

MACON COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man suffered serious injuries Tuesday in a crash after hitting a deer while riding his motorcycle, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A 2016 Harley Davidson – driven by Michael James, 57, of St. Charles – hit a deer on Lace Avenue in Macon County, about three miles east of Excello, the report states. The bike overturned and James was ejected.

James was flown to University Hospital in Columbia, according to the crash report. He was not wearing a helmet.

The Harley had extensive damage, according to the report.
