MU announces Homecoming events lineup

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The University of Missouri announced the lineup of events for this year's homecoming in an email on Wednesday. The Tigers will host the South Carolina Gamecocks in a Southeastern Conference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 21.
Listed events include:
Tiger Food Fight
Friday, Sept. 29, Reynolds Alumni Center (circle drive) – A food drive held for the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. Accepted items, according to MU’s email, include: Peanut butter, canned meats, canned beans, canned chili, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned soups and canned ravioli. Prohibited items: Ramen noodles, perishable food items, any items not previously specified. Money donations can be made online.
Homecoming Day of Service
Saturday, Sept. 30, various locations in Columbia – Volunteer opportunities are expected to be posted on MU’s website.
Homecoming blood drive
11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9,-Thursday, Oct. 12, Hearnes Center – A satellite blood drive will also be held Friday, Oct. 27 at Callaway County Electric Cooperative. Residents can also register at blood drives on the Red Cross’ website.
Dome lighting ceremony
7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, Traditions Plaza
Homecoming Talent Competition
6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16- Wednesday, Oct. 18, Jesse Auditorium
Campus decorations
6-9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, Greek Town, between Rollins Street and Kentucky Boulevard

Homecoming Spirit Rally

Saturday, Oct. 21, TBD, Faurot Field – Mizzou hosts South Carolina. The Homecoming royalty will be announced at halftime.
