JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A St. Louis woman was arrested on Monday after allegedly making a false call to police, according to a Tuesday press release from the Jefferson City Police Department.

According to the release, Jefferson City Communications took a call at 6:51 p.m. Monday about a child locked inside a vehicle that was on fire in the 800 block of Broadway Street. First responders arrived and determined there was no child or fire.

Porsche Claxton, 32, of St. Louis, allegedly admitted that she just wanted help opening her locked vehicle and gave false details to make first responders arrive faster, according to the press release.

“I told you that to get you all here faster,” she is quoted in the release.

She was arrested and brought to the Cole County Jail. She was released at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday after posting a $500 bond. Charges have not been filed on Casenet yet.
