Callaway County man arrested for assault, drug possession
CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A man was arrested this week in Callaway County for several charges relating domestic assault and illegal drugs.
Zachary McBee was arrested Thursday and formally charged Friday with first degree rape, armed criminal action, third degree domestic assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of illegal drugs, according to the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
Callaway County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a sexual assault Thursday in the 200 block of East Harrison. According to a news release, the victim escaped and a passerby helped them and contacted law enforcement.
The victim was interviewed by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Investigations Unit, where they reported McBee had a gun and had sexually assaulted and physically abused them, according to the news release.
According to Callaway Sheriff's Office, an investigation revealed McBee had a no bond Department of Corrections Parole Warrant. Investigators executed a search warrant and discovered a gun and 6.5 grams of methamphetamine. According to the news release, this led to McBee's arrest.
No hearings have been scheduled for McBee, according to online court records.
