Jefferson City man charged after allegedly pulling out gun at gas station

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was arrested and charged after allegedly pulling a gun out of his pants and pointing it at several people at a gas station on Monday.

David Lamar Ross Jr., 30, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He is being held without bond at the Cole County Jail. An arraignment is set for 10 a.m. Friday.

Police were called to 807 Stadium Boulevard, according to the probable cause statement. A witness at the CENEX allegedly told police that a man pulled a gun out of his pants and started pointing it at several people before everyone jumped into their cars, the statement says. The man with the gun – later identified as Ross – allegedly drove off in a black Mazda.

Cole County Sheriff’s deputies allegedly saw the vehicle in the 700 block of Madison Street. A gun was found in the passenger floorboard of the vehicle, according to the probable cause statement.

Police arrested Ross and on the way to the jail, he allegedly admitted to pulling out the gun, but said he didn’t point it at anyone, the statement says.
