Tracking a beautiful Friday with isolated rain and thunder on Saturday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with patchy fog developing in river valleys. Lows in the lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny to start with clouds increasing by late afternoon. Highs right around 80.

EXTENDED: Lows dip into the low to mid-50s overnight with patchy fog developing in the same spots by morning. Tomorrow starts off sunny, but clouds pick up toward the end of the day and increase through the afternoon ahead of a cold front that will bring rain chances to start the weekend. Some of our forecast models are hinting at a few light showers on Saturday morning followed by a few more organized clusters with rumbles of thunder by afternoon. I'm still not expecting much widespread measurable rain, but with a chance for lightning in the forecast it could cause problems for Mizzou football tailgaters/game-goers on Saturday. Sunday is looking great with temperatures reaching the upper 70s with plenty of sunshine. Upper winds shift to the southwest next week, getting us back into the low to mid-80s early in the week. A disturbance in the jet stream will bring a chance for rain between Wednesday night and Thursday.
