St. Louis photographer run over and municipal worker arrested after village threatens to tow cars

HILLSDALE, Mo. (AP) — A municipal worker in suburban St. Louis has been arrested after allegedly running over and seriously injuring a TV station photojournalist. FOX affiliate KTVI reports that the Velda City Police Department was called to investigate last month in the village of Hillsdale. The incident took place as reporters tried to ask questions of a village leader who sought refuge in a public works truck. KTVI says that when the vehicle drove off, photographer Wade Smith was struck by a trailer attached to the truck. A police incident report says he was taken to a hospital for treatment for a serious leg injury. KTVI says the worker was arrested this week but released pending a review of possible charges.
