Tracking slim rain chances and even more fall-like air

TODAY: Clouds and possibly a sprinkle or two are in store for us this morning, as a disturbance moves in overhead this morning. Moisture will have to fight some dry air for precipitation to reach the ground this morning, and it looks like for many, dry air will win out. With that said, some may see a brief sprinkle, or shower at most through lunch time. We'll have sunny skies this afternoon, and highs will again reach the low 80s.

TONIGHT: Clear skies are expected tonight, with a light northeast breeze. Fog will be a possibility in some low lying areas and in river valleys or near other bodies of water early Saturday, as temperatures fall into the 50s.

Extended: We'll be dry and mild again on Sunday, with conditions very similar to Saturday. A trough of low pressure aloft digs into the northern plains early next week, which will bring a surface cold front in from the north. This front may linger just to our north and west on Monday, but approach sometime late Tuesday. We'll keep slim chances for rain on Monday, but Monday looks mostly dry with cloudy skies. Rain chances grow on Tuesday, and possibly linger on Wednesday. Exact placement and timing of the front is still questionable, but generally, we can expect cooler conditions next week, with upper 70s forecast Monday, and low 70s forecast Tuesday through Thursday. These highs are more representative of early October, than early September.
