Moniteau County man accused of deceptive business practices
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Cole County grand jury has indicted a Moniteau County man on two felonies for allegedly taking more than $9,000 for work that wasn't performed.
Wesley W. Jordan of California, Missouri, was indicted Thursday for a crime that allegedly took place in April. The indictment gives few details but says that Jordan, under his company WJ All Types Fencing, took $9,300 as partial payment for a job but didn't do the work.
He was indicted on charges of deceptive business practices and stealing.
Online court records indicate Jordan has not been arrested.
The victim filed a lawsuit against the company in July in Cole County court. The lawsuit says Jordan's company "failed to even begin" the work.
No one picked up the phone at a number listed online for the business.
