Insider Blog: UV levels still very high into early fall
While conditions have been much better to head back outside, that also means more danger from the sun. The UV Index still reaches very high levels into September on clear afternoons, which can mean sunburn in less than a half hour.
The sun angle is still very high this time of year, allowing more direct radiation and higher UV levels. As we head into fall and winter, the sun gets closer to the horizon and less radiation reaches the ground. We are still seeing very high UV index levels so sunscreen is needed anytime you head out right now.
